OS grid reference:- SD 869 917
Magnificent Hardraw Force is situated in Hardraw Scar, a scenic wooded ravine at the head of the beautiful North Yorkshire valley of Wensleydale.

The waterfall consists of a single drop of 100 feet and is said to be the highest unbroken waterfall in England. To access the falls the visitor has to pass through the bar of the thirteenth century Green Dragon Inn in Hardraw village. An entrance fee is payable at the pub. Access behind the falls is now not allowed. The falls were used as a location in the famous film 'Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves' and are featured in the scene where Marian catches Robin Hood bathing under a waterfall.

The limestone gorge of Hardraw Scar is a natural amphitheatre and is the site of an annual brass band entertainment contest each September.
The Pennine Way long distance trail passes nearby.
